We’re thrilled with the success of our flag team routine at the Summer Showdown…..so guess what? The flag is officially back for the entire 2025-26 season!
We will not be having an official try out!! If you are interested in being on the team, come to the practices and see how you and your horse like it! During practice we’ll be looking at how you and your horse handle the flag. Throughout the season, we’ll focus perfecting posture, improving flag control and mastering choreographed routines to music — all while riding.
We aim to showcase our flag routines at additional shows during the year, culminating in a major performance at the three-day Summer Showdown Grand Entry at season’s end.
Team size will determine future tryouts to decide flag assignments and routine placement.
Practice Schedule
- Monthly practices from October to April
- Twice-monthly practices in May to gear up for the big event
- Practices will take place on Saturdays at Sundance Hills Equestrian Center (7933 West Lilac Rd, Bonsall)
- If you do not have your own horse and will need to use a Sundance Hills Horse, you will need to coordinate that with Sara. You will have to pay a lease fee for practice days.
Team Requirements
- Must be 12 years or older
- Must be able to attend scheduled practices
- Must be available for Summer Showdown in June 2026
If you anticipate any schedule conflicts with show dates, please notify Chelsea as soon as possible.
