We have a very quick turn–two weeks–between the January and February shows, so the board has been busy prepping. Here are some of the highlights of our meeting.
Mid-year Standings for Year-end Awards
We reviewed the data for the mid-year standings for year-end awards and will be posting that within the next couple of days. At this point, we have included every rider who has participated in at least two (2) Mudslingers shows since technically there are enough shows remaining for these riders to qualify if they participate in every remaining show.

Please remember that we only post year-end award standings once a year, in the middle of the season. This aligns with our club’s values of de-emphasizing competition and supporting each rider to grow continuously and do their best.
Important Date & Arena Change for Our May Show
For our May show, we will be changing our date and venue:
- Previously, we were scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd at CRC.
- Now, we will host our show Sunday, May 4th at Green Acres Ranch.
CRC asked if we could give up our May 3rd date so they can schedule a large group who wants to reserve the ranch for several days. They offered make-up dates, but these coincided with Easter Sunday and Memorial Day weekend, which are typically not great show dates for members of our club.
The Mudslingers club has previously held events at Green Acres and appreciated the facility and the Rich family owners. We moved to CRC because Green Acres’ footing wasn’t suitable for gymkhana. Since then, Green Acres has upgraded their footing, using the same material as South Point Arena in Las Vegas, which is a barrel racing facility. Sara and Christine evaluated the ground and it was much improved.
This venue change is only in effect for our May show. We will resume shows at CRC in June.
Side note: Some may have noticed that the new show date is May the 4th, as in “May the 4th be with you!” If we have any Star Wars fans in our midst, contact Christine so we can brainstorm something fun and special for the May show!
