It’s all systems go for the Mudslingers Summer Showdown right now, with the board focused on logistics, registrations, payments, stall and camping reservations, the silent auction, fun races and more. We feel incredibly excited and hope we don’t melt in what may be a very warm weekend.

Regarding the Summer Showdown:

  • We have completed flag tryouts and our flag team leader, Chelsea Goodin, has announced the placements, below. The flag team will be performing at the Grand Entry at the Summer Showdown. The first practice is Saturday, June 14 at 2 pm at Sundance Hills Equestrian Center.
  • We’d love to know if you plan to join us for a meal at the Summer Showdown Hoedown. This event is open to everyone. We’ll be offering BBQ meals for $10/person on the evening of Saturday, 6/28. Please RSVP here if you think you’ll be joining us (at CRC) Saturday evening. We’d like to get a rough headcount before we go grocery shopping. You can pay in person.
  • If you haven’t already, please let Christine know (858-395-1290) if you’re coming to the silent auction/raffle basket-making party at 2 pm on Sunday, June 22. Also – let us know if you’re planning to bring a basket for raffle or auction. (We like to know which baskets we’ll have on hand so we can create auction forms for them.) Anyone who contributes money or a basket will receive $25 worth of raffle tickets, which we’ll hand out at the show.

June Show Wrap-up

Our June show had four new arena records! Congratulations to Naakai Yazzie-Watson, who set three of the new records:

  • Birangle: 14.346
  • Hurry Scurry: 9.931
  • Single Stake: 9.641

And to Kerri Graham for setting a new Poles 2 record:

  • Poles 2: 24.203

Also, four riders advanced divisions:

  • Annie Jenkins to Division A
  • Dynna Gosnell to Division AA
  • Hannah Morton to Division AA
  • Makayla Wooden to Division AA
