We’re thrilled to announce an exciting development for our annual Summer Showdown!
This year, our club has been invited to take our soon-to-be legendary competition to the dazzling lights and vibrant energy of the San Diego County Fair.
Get ready for the Mudslingers Summer Showdown @ The Fair, taking place on Wednesday, June 17th & Thursday, June 18th, 2026, at the (enormous, indoor) Del Mar Arena. This will replace our June show at CRC.
This is more than just a show; it’s an opportunity to ride and compete under the grandstands of one of California’s most beloved annual events — where you’ll be able to compete and enjoy the Fairgrounds. Here’s a quick overview:
- 2 Days of riding / competing
- 8 Patterns (4 per day)
- 4 Match Races (2 for Division A and below, 2 for fastest riders)
- A massive 67 Buckles to be awarded across 7 divisions
- Thousands in Cash Prizes
What’s included for riders? Your participation fee is packed with value, including:
- Full show registration for both days
- 3 nights of stalls for your horse
- 4 Fair tickets (2 per day for Wednesday & Thursday)
- 2 parking passes (1 per day for Wednesday & Thursday) – for RV camping or Fairgrounds parking
- Reg fees (same as last year): $295 for Mudslingers members, $325 for non-Mudslingers members
We’ll be limiting the show to 80 riders, with Mudslingers members gaining priority registration.
But it’s not just for our riders. We’re creating an unforgettable experience for everyone, including Fair spectators, who will get to witness and learn about the incredible sport of gymkhana!
All Fairgoers will enter the Fairgrounds through the south end of our arena and will be invited to witness our Grand Entry, enjoy continuous, engaging commentary from professional emcees and even participate in fun public activities like Hobby Horse and Three-legged races. For those who enjoy a unique vantage point, a new speakeasy bar overlooks the arena — and we will have reserved boxes for our volunteers, judges, sponsors and media.
