The Mudslingers Board met on September 26 to discuss ongoing club business and plan for upcoming events. We loved having more than a dozen people show up to the meeting to contribute their time, ideas, and work. Here’s a recap of the key decisions and discussions:
Youth A Division: Age Split Adjustment
Starting with the October show, the Youth A division will be split into two groups: 12 & Under and 13 & Over. This adjustment comes after careful consideration of rider numbers at the September show (15 competed in the “15 & Under” division and 4 in the “16 & Over” Division A) and aims to create more balanced competition groups. After the adjustment, we will have 9 riders in youth and 10 riders in adult. If you have already registered, don’t worry we will adjust the division for you/your rider.
Recognizing Rider Achievements: The Mudslingers Excellence Awards
Andrea, Sara and Vikki unveiled the Mudslingers Excellence Awards program. This initiative will recognize individual rider achievements throughout the season, going beyond just placement in a division. Click here for more details about this exciting new program!
New Club Merchandise in the Works!
Get ready to show your Mudslingers pride! Andrea presented and the board reviewed initial ideas for new club merchandise and will be moving forward with research on vendors and designs. We can’t wait to unveil the new gear soon!
Financial Update
Treasurer Mila provided a balance sheet indicating the club’s finances are currently on track to meet year-end goals, including funding year-end awards and securing deposits for the 2025-26 season. The board is committed to staying focused on our budget to ensure we reach these financial targets. Fundraising efforts, such as a planned November raffle led by Carrie and Jody, will play an important role in achieving these goals.
Volunteer Appreciation and Show Updates
A huge thank you to all our volunteers, especially Lauren for her dedication as volunteer coordinator! Lauren is doing a fantastic job managing the volunteer hour tracking process. She will be posting volunteer tallies in the coming weeks.
For the October show, Julia will be filling in for Lauren during the morning.
Also, planning for the November show is well underway! Mark your calendars for a fun Hobby Horse Race as the extra play pattern on Saturday afternoon. This will be open to everyone. That means YOU moms and dads!
Our next board meeting will be held on Thursday, October 10 @ 6:30 p.m. at Village Pizza in Bonsall.
